"I went to the Emergency Room of Jane Phillips Hospital around 3:30 p.m. experiencing some chest pains. By 4:30 p.m. I was in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Jane Phillips Hospital and the wonderful people from Bluestem Cardiology, Dr. Pat Tinker and his assistants, were opening the blockage in my heart and were inserting a stent to keep my artery open. They explained clearly to me what had occurred in my heart and what they were doing to correct my problem. He told me that I had my choice of going anywhere in the world to have this procedure done and he would make sure I got there. I chose St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa after being referred by BlueStem Cardiology. My valve was replaced with a St. Jude’s mechanical valve in February of 2009.
