Pacemaker Insertion
An implantable device, inserted by the cardiologist, which is used when the heart’s natural pacemaker is defective. May be done on an emergent basis or scheduled for patients with abnormally slow heart rate. The test is scheduled through the hospital and requires a preparation. Patients are seen back in the office for a wound check in one week after the procedure, then in one month, then every six months for a pacemaker check.
