Electrocardiogram (EKG)

An electrical tracing of the heart's rhythm used to diagnose heart conditions. This test is performed on every new patient and at least once a year for every patient.  Certain patients may require an additional test due to medications and abnormal rhythms. All EKGs will be read by the physician or mid-level practitioner.
